Why India saw 39 lakh avoidable deaths in last 12 years

NCRB data classifies avoidable deaths as unnatural accidents says that between 2004-2015, 39 lakh people died in such mishaps. In unnatural accidents list, road mishaps are the largest killer, claiming 15 lakh lives in the said period. Drowning is the second-largest killer-3 lakh deaths from 2004-2015. Over 26,000 lives were lost in accidents at railway crossings.
